FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What Is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a natural form of healthcare in which the chiropractor uses his hands to treat you instead of prescription drugs or surgery. The chiropractic adjustment is the main form of treatment that we utilize, which allows your joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and your nervous system to balance. This allows proper function for your whole body, reducing pain, and improving your overall health. A Doctor of Chiropractic’s main focus is the diagnosis and treatment of neuromusculoskeletal disorders.

What Conditions Do You Treat?

We treat patients with muscle, joint, and nerve conditions ranging from low back pain, neck pain, and headaches, to carpal tunnel syndrome, shoulder conditions, and sciatica. These are just a few examples of the symptoms that we have been able to alleviate with chiropractic care. To find out more look under the Benefits of Chiropractic tab at the top of the page.

How Long Does It Take?

Each patient is unique, so each treatment plan is tailored to each individual. An average treatment time generally ranges from 10 minutes to 20 minutes. At Kauffman Chiropractic we understand that you have busy schedules, so we strive to stay on schedule and most often there is little or no wait.

What do I need to do before my first visit?

Before your first visit we ask that you please complete the New Patient intake on our website. https://www.kauffmanchiropractic.com/new-patient-forms Providing us with any medical history and a list of current medications is essential. It can also be helpful to write down questions or concerns so that you are prepared for your appointment. Bring your ID and insurance card if applicable.

How long does a New Patient Appointment take?

For new patients we ask for 45min to 1 hour of your time. Dr. Kauffman goes through a thorough consultation with each patient before they receive their treatment. On your first visit you will receive a physical examination, range of motion tests, postural assessment, and neurological tests among others, as needed. After diagnosis, Dr. Kauffman will create a personalized treatment plan individualized specifically for you.

Once I start chiropractic care do I have to keep going forever?

No. However, many of our patients continue Chiropractic wellness care on a regular basis after completing their treatment plans, others may require more frequent visits during an acute period or flare-up of their symptoms. Dr. Kauffman will adjust your care plan that meets your specific needs.

Are Chiropractors Real Doctors?

Yes. Chiropractors must earn a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree from an accredited chiropractic school. This educational process is a very rigorous 3-5 year program. Dr. Kauffman holds a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences from Penn State, and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan University. Dr. Kauffman is licensed by the State of Ohio to practice chiropractic.

Do you take my insurance?

Dr. Kauffman is an in-network provider with most major insurance companies and gladly accepts personal injury cases as well. If you do not have health insurance don’t worry, we keep our visit costs low to make chiropractic care affordable for everyone.

Is Chiropractic safe?

Absolutely! Dr. Kauffman will use techniques tailored specifically for you. Chiropractic care is also non-invasive and medication-free, making it a safe and effective way to manage a variety of aches, pains and other issues.
